Small groups, which we call ‘home groups’ are the heart of church life at St George’s. If you are new, we recommend joining a home group as the best way to get to know people and get involved.
Home groups vary in size (anything from 6 to about 20), location (different parts of London, usually in people's homes), and meeting time. They all aim to be a place of Christian discipleship, support and encouragement, and allow time to read the Bible and pray each time they meet, but they each have different emphases. The home groups also organise social events, weekends away, community action projects, and help in different areas of church life.
For more information contact the church office via email or call 020 7404 4407.
WC1 Young Adults Home Group
We are a group of young adults who meet together every Tuesday evening at 7.00pm. We start with food and a catch up, and then worship, study the Bible, and pray together.
We also have socials, a weekend away, and some outward focused projects in the community throughout the year. We find these are all great ways of growing friendships as well as going deeper in our faith together.
If you are aged 18-30 and looking for a group that aims to support and encourage you in the journey of faith, then do get in touch - by email or just say hi at one of the services. We'd love you to join us!
WC1 Judd Street Home Group
This home group, led by Mary Wallis, meets every Tuesday evening. We share a meal, and then have a bible study and a time of prayer together. We are a 'more mature' group (!) but love to learn more about God's Word to us and how we can be used to spread the good news of Jesus Christ each day in our varying situations and locations.
Please contact the office for more details.
Families' Home Group
Ours is a very informal home group. Each week we aim to eat dinner, pray, sing songs of praise and talk about the bible. However sometimes we don’t get past the first two! We enjoy growing in fellowship and support each other in our journey towards Godliness. For further info, please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org.
